Yoga
Practice &
Presence
Jassim's yoga journey began in 2009 — not as a pursuit of flexibility or fitness, but as a quiet turning inward. Over 16 years, he studied with teachers across countries and traditions, absorbing different philosophies, methods, and ways of being. He learned not only from the best teachers, but equally from the bad seasons, the disappointing classes, and the moments that taught him what yoga is not — until something distinctly his own began to take shape.
Last year, that journey reached a formal milestone — completing his yoga teacher training in Kerala, India, and receiving his certification from the Yoga Association. But the real training, he would say, happened long before that. It happened on mats in different cities, in the silence between film shoots, in the gradual realisation that the stillness he found in practice was the same stillness that made him a better filmmaker, a more present collaborator, and a more honest storyteller.

For Jassim, yoga is not separate from his work — it is the root of it. It is what allows him to sit with uncertainty, to resist the urge to force, and to trust that the most truthful moments — on screen, on the page, and in life — emerge only when there is enough space for them to arrive.
Just as he approaches a script, he designs his yoga classes with the same intention — a journey with a beginning, middle, and end. Each class carries a theme, a purpose, an arc. Something to move through, not just physically, but internally. They are built to be experienced, felt, and grown from. Not just moved through.
